¡¶China'a "Elephant Family"¡·
Brief Introduction£º
As the "biggest guy" on land, the Asia elephant is an important member of the elephant family. But there are only 260 wild Asian elephants in the Chinese mainland today. In ancient China elephant represented nobleness, prosperity, longevity and courage and religious legends even offered them supernatural powers. Compared with their African cousins the Asian elephants are less fortunate. In the past tens of thousands of years, due to the climate change and the over expansion of human activities, their habitats have been constantly shrinking. They had to migrate from the vast Asian continent to the small tropical forest and valley in Southeastern Asia. Today they are only seen in the narrow regions amongs China, Burma and Laos.
China's "Elephant Family" performs a great forest symphony for the audiences, making us to think about the relationship between animals, nature and human beings.
