Brief Introduction£º
¡¡ Western Xia Mausoleums are located in the wild on the east side of Helan Mountain, which is 25 kilometers to the west of Yinchuan City. It is comprised of 9 mausoleums of Western Xia Kings and more than 200 companion tombs of royal members and other nobles. The vast remains of the mausoleums are called the Eastern Pyramids by Japanese tourists. The construction of these tombs not only reflects the essence of the art of mausoleum architecture since Qin and Han dynasties, especially Tang and Song dynasties, but also reflects the influence of Buddhist architecture. As a result, the mausoleums are a perfect combination of the cultures of Han nationality, Buddhism and Dangxiang nationality, which forms a unique style in China's mausoleum architecture. The mausoleums of Western Xia Kingdom are grandiose in size and neat in formation. Every mausoleum of king takes up more than 100 thousand square meters, made up of watch towers, holy walls, pavilions housing with stone tablets, turrets, barbican entrances, sacrifice halls and platform for the coffin, etc. The Mausoleums of Western Xia Kingdom is a miniature of the glorious civilization created by Western Xia Kingdom.
