700 hundred years ago
a caravan from the Central Asia lost their way home
and they finally settled down in Qinghai close to
the Yellow River. They live and marry with the local
Tibetans and call themselves Shalar. They keep their
own Islam traditions and living style and blend
them with that of the locals. Shala people create
their own civilization.
Almost all Shala people are professional gardeners
and dancers. Their camel dance, for instance, will
tell you their origin. The audience will also be
brought to the Mengda Lake the cradle for the Shala
people.
