He fastened a national flag on
a pole at the station to fulfill a dream of a professor
who were dying of an incurable disease.
Our life in South Pole began with collecting garbage
and the collecting oilcan caused the most headache.
The formidable snow storm lasted for days and we
lacked food. At request of our guests from Russian
station, we gave away three sacks of flour, two
boxes of oranges, 20 kg peanut oil and a few pork.
We were struggling for survival.
