In the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is Qinghai Lake, also known as "The World's Ridge." It is the largest inland salt lake in China. It is also called "Fresh Water" or "West Sea". In Mongolian it is called "Kukunuoer", and in Tibetan it is called "Cuobu Lake" -both of these names mean "Green Lake." Qinghai Lake stands at an altitude of 3200 meters, it is 4456 square kilometers, 360 kilometers in perimeter, and 19 meters deep.
