Kanasi Lake is in the forest of Mount Altay in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which is part of northwestern China. This is a mountain lake, and in Mongolian the word "Kanasi" means "the lake in a valley." Colorful folk customs and spectacular landscapes converge here. In the morning there is often a smoky mist, by noon the mist turns into cotton clouds, and when the mist floats away, Kanasi is exposed in all its beauty.
