Yang Shu'an (L) shakes hands with Bruno Grandi

Signing the agreement

(BEIJING, December 4) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the International Gymnastics Federation signed here on Monday the principle part of a memorandum of understanding for the 2008 Olympic Gymnastics events.

On behalf of their respective organizations, BOCOG Executive Vice-President Yang Shu'an and FIG President Bruno Grandi signed the MOU. The two parties signed parts of the appendix for the MOU earlier in April.

Grandi also voiced his satisfaction with the ongoing 2007 Artistic Gymnastics International Invitational Tournament, one of sport events of the "Good Luck Beijing" series that serves as a pre-Olympic event to test venue operations and facilities.

The Olympic Gymnastics competitions will be held at two different venues across 16 days: the National Indoor Stadium for Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastic events and the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium for Rhythmic Gymnastics.
