BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Australian superfish Grant Hackett said here on Monday that he believed his hunger for another Olympic gold will increase by visiting China.

The 26-year-old Hackett arrived in Beijing Sunday evening and held a news conference along with his sponsor Speedo Monday morning.

"I am very pleased to be able to visit China this week, and spend time in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong," said the Aussie swimming star who married his singer fiance Candice Alley nine days ago in Melbourne, Australia.

In order to prepare his wedding and settle in Melbourne with his sweet heart, a distracted Hackett ended his races at the Melbourne World Championships with no gold. The long-distance kingsuffered a lot in the 1,500 meters freestyle, finishing a humblingseventh in his pet event.

But the failure in Melbourne won't affect Hackett's aggression for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

"After my performance in the recent World Championships, I am more determined than ever to perform well at the 2008 Olympics and I am aiming to win my third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the 1500 meters freestyle," said Hackett.

The Australian swimming captain even believed "by visiting China, and looking at the fantastic Olympic facilities and experiencing the growing excitement across the country I think my hunger for another Olympic gold medal will increase even more."

Besides visiting the National Stadium and the National Aquatic Center for the Beijing Olympics, Hackett will also meet with the Chinese national swimming team during his three-day trip in Beijing.

"I am looking forward to talking to them about my swimming experiences and hopefully also learning from them," said Hackett.
