(KUNMING, June 9) -- Zhong Huidi, known as the long distance running princess of Asia, ran as the first torchbearer in the Kunming leg of the Olympic Torch Relay that kicked off around 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

Covering a total distance of 8.3 km, the Kunming leg will include 208 torchbearers and 55 escorts.

Under the theme of "Journey of Harmony," the torch relay in Yunnan Province will exhibit the region's unique resources, geography, and folk culture, as well as highlight the concept of a "People's Olympics."

Yunan will try its best to present a harmonious, beautiful and friendly province to everyone watching.
