(BEIJING, January 11) -- Authorized by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), the Sinomaps Press has been publishing the paper edition of the "Beijing Olympic Venues Tourism and Transport Map" since August 2007. The map has been well received, and its follow-up publication is in the works.

Recently, some people have been found to be usurping the names of BOCOG and Sinomaps Press to conduct marketing promotions for "Beijing Olympic Venues Tourism and Transport Map" (gold and silver bar edition).

BOCOG and the Sinomaps Press solemnly declare that the so-called "gold and silver bar edition" was neither approved nor authorized officially by BOCOG or the Press, and it is not produced or marketed by a third party trustee. Furthermore, it is not at all an official Olympic licensed product nor is it an official publication of the Sinomaps Press. The two organizations have already taken joint measures to effectively intervene with these violations.

Consumers are urged to report to BOCOG, the Sinomaps Press or law-enforcement agencies in a timely manner any knowledge of actions to produce, sell or promote the fake map edition, especially whereby these actions have the purpose of disrupting map publication and Olympic marketing order and defrauding consumers.
