Carved “Bird’s Nest” model made of pure gold
(BEIJING, January 5) -- The micro scale model of the "Bird's Nest" (the National Stadium), the commemorative gold and silver gemmed coins to commemorate the Beijing Olympic torch and Mt. Everest…over seventy kinds of Olympic licensed products made of noble metals hit the market early in the Olympic Year of 2008 on Saturday.
The newly licensed products covered eighteen kinds of gold and silver plated models, forty pure gold and silver products at affordable prices, and thirteen series of metal coins and ornaments decorated with gold, silver and jade.
The new products inspired by Olympic elements and Chinese traditional culture vivified the three concepts of a "Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics and People's Olympics" with elegant designs and creative skills
During yesterday's new product launching ceremony, twelve souvenirs in four series of "venue commemorative coins," "Olympic jade folding screen with metal centerpiece," and "Beijing Olympic torch commemorative coins with metals and gems" are expected to hit the market during the warm-up to the Lunar New Year.
As the Beijing Olympic Games moves closer, there will be a bigger market for collectible Olympic licensed products, driven by the prosperous Chinese market and the increased attention from the world.
