(BEIJING, December 17) -- Officials in charge of the moon probe project handed over a disc containing the song retransmitted from China's Chang'e 1 satellite to the volunteer organizers of the Beijing Olympics on Monday.
At a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, project general director Luan Enjie handed the disc to Liang Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice-director of the Beijing Olympic Volunteer Work Coordination Group. The song, entitled "Smiling Beijing," honors the volunteers of the 2008 Olympic Games.
More than 700 people including representatives of those who have registered as Games-time volunteers for the Beijing Olympics attended the ceremony.

Present at the ceremony were Liu Qi, president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee; Zhang Qingwei, minister in charge of the State Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense; Guo Jinlong, vice secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and acting mayor of Beijing; and other high-ranking Beijing municipality and BOCOG officials.
The officials presented the volunteer wristbands and helped the volunteeer applicants to put them on, and the latter called on their peers to carry out the innovative spirit of moon probers and to make their contribution to the Olympic volunteer program.
