 A native English speaker teaches the students
(BEIJING, November 29) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) is training 59 team and technical officials to improve their English proficiency.
Through a 10-week course, the trainees have classes six days a week and six hours every day. They follow practical teaching methods while striving to improve their English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
 The technical officials learn volleyball English expressions while playing volleyball.
Beginning October 9, 2007, BOCOG enrolled the officials from 18 provinces and municipalities in the country, requesting that they take part in the 10-week closed workshop at a training base in north Beijing, which has been slated for mountaineering training
The first batch of 61 trainees from 14 venue management teams finished their classes on September 10.
