(BEIJING, October 25) -- Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), arrived here Thursday morning to attend the 7th World Conference on Sport and Environment.

Yu Zaiqing, IOC executive member and executive vice-president of the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG), and He Zhenliang, chairman of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education, received the president at the airport.

The 7th World Conference on Sport and Environment, themed "From Plan to Action," will take place in the Olympic City from October 25 to 27, 2007. Nearly 400 delegates from within and outside the Olympic Movement, including the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Health Organization (WHO), and World Bank, will attend the event.
The conference is organized jointly by the IOC and BOCOG in close partnership with UNEP.
