(BEIJING, Oct. 13) -- The Home Affairs Bureau of Hong Kong SAR and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee (SF & OC) of Hong Kong, China launched the urban landscaping project for the 2008 Olympics at a cerebration ceremony held Saturday evening to mark the 300-day countdown to the Games.
The Secretary for Home Affairs, Tsang Tak-sing, said the Hong Kong Olympic organizers will continue to work closely with local organizations and BOCOG to make the Olympic equestrian events a success. He said that the event organizers will take the precious opportunity to make China proud of Hong Kong as one of the co-host cities. Other co-host cities are Qingdao for sailing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao for football preliminaries.
Timothy Fok, SF & OC President, along with other personalities, attended the ceremony.
