(BEIJING, October 8) -- Liu Qi, Secretary of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and President of the organizing committee for the Beijing Olympics stressed the need to carry forward the Olympic assets in preparing for the opening of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Five moral values, namely patriotism, devotion, constant effort for perfection, renovation and teamwork have taken shape in the process of preparing for the 2008 Olympic Games, Liu told the leading officials of Beijing in a meeting on Monday.
"We need to carry forward these valuable spiritual assets in our day-to-day work and make our contribution to the opening of the 17th National Congress of CPC in the areas of security and services," he noted.
Liu called for mass participation in the endeavor to ensure social order, safe production and smooth operation of logistics in the capital city.
The CPC is the vanguard of the Chinese working class as well as the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. It is the core of the leadership for the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The CPC national congress is held once in every five years. The next one is scheduled to convene in Beijing on October 15, 2007.
