(BEIJING, August 28) -- Internet users who can understand Chinese will now be able to learn more about the Olympic and Paralympic Games through the new online Olympic training symposium (http://www.beijing2008.cn/education/symposium/) that went live Tuesday.
The online symposium, currently offered in Chinese only, is made possible by the office of the Olympic training coordination group and the official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to allow online users access to authoritative, systematic, and interesting online Olympic training content and videos.
The online Olympic training symposium offers users informative videos that systematically introduce the Olympic and Paralympic Games, useful written training materials, venue information, and interactive online chats with Olympic specialists.
Additionally, users can watch videos of lectures given by various area experts regarding a wide range of topics including Olympic history, Paralympic history, traditional Chinese culture, environmental education, Beijing's urban development plan, transportation, and many other interesting topics.
With support from the Media and Communications, Technology, and Human Resources departments of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the online Olympic training symposium will help meet the growing demand for Olympic education and increase the spread of Olympic knowledge.
