BEIJING, Feb. 20 ,2007 -- Chinese teenage diver Chen Ruolin clinched the women's 10-meter platform title at the "Good Luck Beijing" 16th FINA Diving World Cup here on Wednesday.
Chen, 15, runner-up of the event in the 2007 Melbourne world championships, made five perfect dives to collect 449.35 points in the final to claim the gold after leading the semifinals earlier on Wednesday.
"Generally I performed well today," said the winner. "But still there were some mistakes."
"The experience in the event will help me a lot in future competitions," added Chen, who started her career as a diver at the age of five.
World champion Wang Xin of China, also 15, trailed at 405.00 to take the silver.
Espinosa Paula of Mexico, 21, currently world No. 5 in the event, took the bronze at 396.35.
"I am happy with the result," said Paula. "I have two Chinese coaches, who gave me lots of support and helped me improve my techniques."

Chen, ranked second in the world, has swept all titles in this event during the recent World Series. She made an almost perfect dive in the last round to score 102.00, the highest point in the final.
Canadian veteran Emilie Heymans, world No. 3, winner of the event in the 2003 world championships, placed fourth at 384.50.
Australian Loudy Wiggins, bronze medalist in the event in the Athens Olympic Games, took the fifth place, while the Australian promising star Wu Melissa, 15, currently world No. 4, only settled for the 11th.
Laura Wilkinson, America's two-time Olympian and winner of the event in the Sydney Olympic Games, finished last.
"I was frustrated," said the 31-year-old. "But I've already got the qualification of the Beijing Olympic Games in Melbourne."
It is China's second gold in the event following Wang Feng and Qin Kai's win in the men's 3m springboard synchronized diving.
The "Good Luck Beijing" World Cup, which runs from Feb. 19 to 25, serves as an Olympic qualifier and attracts 296 divers from 56countries and regions.
