Nanjing are learning the joy of helping others, through a jumble sale held in their school playground to benefit fellow students in need.
This is the third annual jumble sale, and this year, even teachers have joined in the fun.
Students learn things besides the significance of helping others, a teacher surnamed Miao said.
"People are more willing to buy your products if you offer them extra gifts," a student who has participated in the previous two sales said.
The commodities, which range from toys to stationery to various crafts handmade by students, are dazzling, the Yangtze Evening News reported.
A group of students wearing sparkling headbands drew great attention at the sale.
"The headbands help distinguish salespeople from customers," Peng Lang, a student from the booth, said.
Part of the sales revenue will go to a partner school in Nanjing's Jiangning District. The rest of the proceeds will be donated to schools that have been affected by the snowstorms in January, the report said. |
