    BEIJING, Feb. 24 -- Teachers at the Shandong University of Arts and Design on Saturday started to assess works submitted by the candidates taking part in the school's entrance exams for 2008.

    More than 160,000 students this year entered for the examinations of the arts-related departments of universities in China's eastern province.

    Assessment work also commenced on the same day in other arts academies and universities throughout the province.
