Among the various kinds of Chinese paper-cut, paper-cut of Yu county is in a league of its own. It is a kind of spot-color paper-cut which mainly rely on hidden carved supplemented by exposed carved. Its course of craft can be divided into six following processes.

A. Paint: The designer draws the pattern down according to his own thinking or request of customer. The process was generally called the picture sample.

B. Rivet: rivet the picture sample on a rice-paper (Generally 50 rice papers) and cut these rice-papers in to pieces according to the picture sample.

C. Soak: Put the riveted papers into water for soaking, then squeeze the moisture of the papers and dry it under the sunshine.

D: Carve: put the soaked papers on a stencil plate and carve it according to the request of the pattern.

E: Dye: paint the carved products. Raw materials are products, paint and bepowder; the tools are brush pen and clean newspaper.

F: packing: Pack the products produced with the five processes above with plastic, books, picture frame and gold foil, etc.
