"I've learned Chinese for three years, but never celebrated spring festival before," said Erik Ablamsson, who studies Chinese in a middle school in Stockholm. His teacher Hakan Friberg told Xinhua that he liked eating Chinese food together with some friends in Chinese restaurants here in Sweden to celebrate Chinese new year.
"There are more and more Swedish people who would like to study Chinese and learn about Chinese culture now. It's really a good thing," said Torbjorn Loden, director of the Nordic Confucius Institute.
